Biography

Dr Saša Stojadinović is a mining engineer and an Associate professor at Technical faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade. He was born in 1976 in Aleksinac, a small town with rich coalmining history. Exposure to mining industry determined his career path so, after graduation from high school, he started mining engineering studies at Technical faculty in Bor and, eventually, defended his doctoral thesis at Faculty for mining and geology in Belgrade. 

During 2001 he started working at Mining department of Technical faculty in Bor as teaching associate and climbed up to the position of Associate professor which he holds now. 

Over the years he was responsible for organization and conduct of exercises in several courses of mining engineering studies including Surface mining, Drilling and Blasting and Occupational safety. He now teaches courses of Occupational safety, Mining Machinery, Technology of surface mining, Economic assessment of mining projects.

The main fields of interest and research of dr Saša Stojadinović are Surface mining and adverse effects of blasting and he is an author or co-author of more than ninety journal or conference articles from these fields. As a researcher he was engaged in a number of international research projects  or research projects financed by the Serbian ministry of Science.  

He was a member or a team leader of consulting teams for preparation of more than twenty mine designs and/or studies and auditor for fifteen. 

Dr Saša Stojadinović was briefly a consultant to J.S. Redpath Limited and an associate with Witteveen+Bos. At present, he is the principal mining consultant to Erin ventures Inc. and a member of Rio Tinto’s Geotechnical review board for the Jadar Project. He is also a court expert witness in the field of mining enlisted with the Serbian Ministry of Justice and certified HSE officer. 

He speaks English and a bit of French.
